Charles Blackman
October 2nd, 1945
- July 7th, 2011 Born in Ft. Pierce, FL, he moved to Columbus GA where he owned and operated the Fountain City Florist for 29 years, retiring in 1998,moving to Vero Beach in 1998 then to Grand Island, Fl in 2008. Charles was a veteran of the US Marines serving in the Vietnam War. He was of the United Methodist faith, Past President of the Columbus Georgia Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of the University of Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Sharon I. Blackman of Grand Island; daughters, Nancy (Michael) Grajewski of Pottstown, PA , Lynette (Joey) Moreno of Venus, TX; five grandchildren, Nicole, Christina, Matthew, Bryanna and Matthew, one great-grandchild Z/T Hodge; mother, Marilyn Blackman Johnson of Vero Beach, FL; brother, William (Phyllis) Blackman of Quincy, FL; and sister, Barbara (Lee) Walding of Conyers, GA. Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 2:30 PM at Morrison United Methodist Church, Leesburg with Dr. M. McCoy Gibbs, officiating.
